Nurse Decoded participant feedbackWHO WE ARE
Bridging the gap between theory and practice in nursing is not a new conversation. What is new is a dedicated, independent space built specifically to do something about it.
Nurse Decoded is that space. Through hands-on simulation, 1:1 coaching, group workshops, and clinical readiness programming, we give nursing students and nurses at every stage the environment to practice, grow, ask questions, and build the kind of confidence that shows up at the bedside.
Our approach is rooted in one belief: when learning feels safe, it becomes personal. And when learning is personal, it sticks.
OUR FOUNDATION
To transform nursing education through an engaging, accessible, and practical learning experience. We equip nursing students and nurses with the skills needed for today’s complex healthcare landscape, supporting stronger, more confident clinicians at every stage of their career.
A future where every nurse and nursing student, regardless of where they trained or where they practise, has access to the hands-on clinical preparation they need to thrive. We are building the infrastructure to make that possible: from our Toronto training lab to digital and virtual programming that reaches nurses across Canada and around the world, offering what traditional systems alone cannot always provide.

WHO WE SUPPORT
From the first day of nursing school to decades into practice, and every stage in between, there is a place for you at Nurse Decoded.
Build foundational skills throughout your program, before placement, during placement, and while preparing for OSCEs and skills demos. Get the focused, hands-on practice time that busy lab schedules can’t always allow. BLS and First Aid certification also available here.
Completed your education but not yet licensed, waiting on exam results, working through the IEN registration process, or returning after a gap. This is the space for that in-between stage that doesn’t always have a clear support structure.
Support isn’t limited to before your first shift. Under Nurse Decoded’s definition, you are a new grad for your first two years in practice. That transition-to-practice window is exactly when structured support matters most, and we are here for all of it.
Navigate the Canadian clinical system with guided, hands-on practice tailored to your background and goals. Build the context and confidence you need in a low-pressure, supportive environment.
Upskill, refresh, and advance your expertise. Whether transitioning to a new specialty, taking on new skills in your current role, or simply investing in where you already are, we are here for it.
Strengthen frontline teams through contracted clinical education, simulation training, and workforce readiness programs designed around your setting, your staff, and your goals.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Founder and Lead Educator
Lucy Kpiebewieng built Nurse Decoded from lived experience — not just clinical experience.
Her path through nursing education was not easy. Financial strain, limited formal support, and an academic environment that did not always make space for the kind of learner she was shaped how she showed up in the profession long before she had the language to describe it. She figured out a great deal on her own, leaning heavily on experienced bedside colleagues who gave generously of their time and knowledge. During periods of personal challenge that the system was not always equipped to support, those informal networks often carried more weight than the formal structures designed to help.
She also felt the moral distress that so many nurses describe — knowing what good care and good learning looked like, and encountering the structural conditions that made it hard to deliver either. That feeling became a turning point.
Nurse Decoded is what Lucy built in response. Not to critique the systems she worked within, but to create something different alongside them. A space where the learning environment itself is the intervention. Where no one is put on the spot. Where a student who struggled in a busy lab, or an IEN trying to find their footing in a new country, or a nurse returning after a gap in practice, can simply practise.
It is the space she would have wanted. And she built it so others would not have to go without it.
A note on organizational roles:
Lucy holds a board position with the Registered Nurses Foundation of Ontario (RNFOO) and is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing.
