Frequently Asked Questions

General

Nurse Decoded is a nursing education and simulation lab built outside of traditional academic and clinical settings. We provide hands-on skills training, simulation-based learning, and practical education designed to bridge the gap between theory and real-world nursing practice.

Our approach is supportive, judgment-free, and grounded in trauma-informed education.

Our services are designed for:

  • Nursing students
  • Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs; pre- or post-licensure)
  • New graduate nurses
  • Experienced nurses seeking skill refreshers or transition support

If you are looking for a safe space to practice, ask questions, and build confidence—this is for you.

No. Nurse Decoded is not a college, university, or regulatory body. We do not grant academic credit or licensure. We operate as a professional education and simulation training centre that complements formal education and workplace learning.

Training & Learning

Offerings may include:

  • Hands-on clinical skills practice
  • Simulation-based learning
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
  • Clinical readiness and transition-to-practice workshops
  • Documentation, communication, and professional practice refreshers

Training may be offered in individual, small-group, or organizational formats.

Most offerings are in-person and hands-on, using hospital-equivalent equipment

Online education, webinars, and learning resources are offered separately and clearly identified.

We use hospital-grade and simulation-equivalent equipment comparable to what learners encounter in clinical and workplace settings. This allows for realistic, high-quality practice and skill transfer.

Certificates & Verification

Yes. Certificates are issued for certain structured workshops and certification courses.

For example:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is issued through the Heart & Stroke Foundation when participants successfully complete the program requirements.
  • Nurse Decoded workshops include a Certificate of Completion issued by Nurse Decoded, confirming participation in structured educational training.

For individualized hands-on practice sessions or skills coaching, participants typically receive a Verification of Practice or Participation instead of a formal certificate. This documentation confirms attendance and/or practice hours but is not an accredited or regulatory certificate.

A Verification of Practice is a formal document confirming that you participated in hands-on practice or training for a specified duration. It may be useful for:

  • Personal professional records
  • Employer discussions
  • Reflective learning documentation

It does not replace accredited education or regulatory requirements.

The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) recognizes that professional learning can take many forms. Participants may choose to include their learning experience and verification documentation as part of their self-directed professional development records, where appropriate.

Organizations & Group Training

Yes. In addition to training at our site, Nurse Decoded collaborates with organizations to deliver education at their offices or clinical sites, where appropriate.

This includes customized group training, workshops, and skills sessions tailored to organizational needs.

Please visit our Partnerships page or contact us directly to begin a conversation about your goals and training needs.

If you’re unsure which option is right for you, we’re happy to help—reach out or book a consultation to explore your learning goals.
